Harvest Offering, 12th – 14th December 2013

Hello,

TheVillageGreenShop is fully stocked this weekend, 14th December. You can find our weekly staples of sustainably grown local and seasonal veg and greens, and specialty vegetables, pasture-raised and grass-fed meats, and dairy including wine, and natural bottled products.  We also have new items such as gluten-free grains, different herb salts, low-fat yoghurt, lamb and other pickled items. Please check them below.

Due to perishable nature of majority of our items and we don’t want to waste food so what’s available are only pre-ordered items each week.The vegs, salad and leafy greens are picked to order for you so we appreciate if you can please let us know any time until Wednesday, 11:00 am is cut off?

Vine-ripened tomatoes

Please check out our harvest offerings on Thursday (1st August) and Saturday (3rd August) which you can pre-order  starting today until Wednesday, cut off is 11:00 am for veg and non-meat items, and until Friday 12:00 nn for meat products.  We are also offering subscription for August and September harvest.  If you’ve been buying  tomatoes, rice, dairy, pakbet mix, white chicken and other veg  on a weekly basis, you can save time and money by subscribing to a food basket which you can customise ahead of time.

What is a subscription scheme?

Organic consumers become organic subscribers if you buy in advance either in one lump sum or in installment your food basket for 4 weeks or 8 weeks or at the beginning of the growing season.  In return for your subscription fee, subscribers receive an assortment of organic produce at discounted price which you have specified ahead of time, including frequency and number of periods.  If you would like to know what it is to subscribe, why and how,  please call us at 0927 675 5199/villagegreenshop@btinternet.com.

TheVillageGreenShop is more than just your neighbourhood food delivery of organic produce. We don’t sell food for survival but food that heals and nourishes and gives soul-satisfying flavour. Each product is painstakingly grown on living soil by men and women farmers, small holder family farmers in community supported farms.

Have you ever wondered where your food comes from and how it was produced? We care about these issues by giving you this information.

Our veg, fruits and herbs including salad greens (romaine, arugula, green ice and red sail) are grown organically by small holder family farmers and community farmers in San Jose Tarlac. While the pakbet veg and green leafy ones are tended by family and small holder farmers in Capas Tarlac. They are trained not just in organic farming but in sustainability of food and caring for the earth. 

We also ensure that our network of farmers share in the wealth by paying them a moral price for the produce they passionately grow and add more to it by helping build human capability resources that they need in order for them to grow those crisp lettuces, juicy plump tomatoes, and give us those veggie-deliciousness and diversity in our food choices.
